He Hears

The Psalmist says: I love the Lord because He has heard by voice and my supplications; because He has inclined His ear to me. Therefore I will call on Him as long as I live.

We are gathered here this morning because our God hears us when we pray to Him. Our God listens when we cry to Him. Our God inclines His ear to His people. He pays attention to us and to our needs. Our God is not deaf. Our God is not far away. He is present. He listens, and He answers.

So whether you have been hard at prayer or it has been a long time, whether you have been diligent or spotty, whether you have been doubtful or angry. Call on Him now, lift up your voice to Him now. Lay before Him your fears, your hurts, your disappointments, your failures, your questions, your requests, your needs – lay it all before Him now and do it in faith because He hears your voice. You are not part of a vague, muffled roar of voices clamoring for God’s ear. No, He knows every one of His sheep by name, and He knows your voice by heart. You do not need to fight for His attention for He is a good and faithful Father. And He is listening to you now.
